Agriculture is the backbone of India is all that we’ve heard of agriculture as common folks. But there are Bsc agriculture graduates who a lot more than that. They’ve spent three years of their lives to learn all about agriculture. They are to be well appreciated because they are the ones who will be responsible for our food in near future. These agriculturalists will have to improve the quality of food and production for better economic situations of our country. Therefore, after graduating Bsc agriculture they’ll have to join the most efficient path to bring out the goodness of what they’ve learnt so far. So here are some suggestions on what job to pursue after graduating Bsc agriculture.

1.Agricultural extension officer 

An agricultural extension officer is the one who takes care of all the testing the crops , inspecting the sample and stay as a guide to farmers. He has to make sure that the agricultural technology reaches all the farmers. Agriculture extension officer help and encourage them to grow more and assist them throughout their harvest. To become an agricultural officer , a Bsc agriculture graduate can apply for  TNPSC agricultural officer exam and qualify to become an agricultural extension officer.

2.Specialist officer in bank

Specialist officer play an important role in smooth functioning of the bank. These specialised officers are appointed in various departments according to their educational background. So, these Bsc agricultural graduates will be working as agricultural field officer if they clear the exam conducted to recruit agricultural field officers that is called as IBPS exam. an agricultural officer in bank is responsible for sanction of farmer loans and promote loans in rural areas as per the schemes framed by the government.

3.Agricultural consultant

Agricultural consultants are those who offer their expert advise to needy farmers about effective management of agricultural land. Bsc agriculture graduates can approach private companies to work as agricultural specialists. As an agricultural consultant one has to visit farmers , make presentations and demonstration on how to make better crop production. They should also collect samples or data and analyse them in order to support them. Attending conferences regarding agriculture will also be one if the duties allocated to them. They will be responsible for the healthy relationship between the company they are working for and the farmers.

4.starting your own farm house

If you are interested in starting your own business , you can become a successful entrepreneur by starting your small business. You can go forward to start your own dairy farming , vermicompost production or a flower production unit. There are a number of promotional schemes that is offered by the government for such start up businesses. This is the best way to become a employment giver rather than being a employer. 

5.Agricultural  journalism

If you are a passionate about writing with a degree in agriculture , go for agricultural journalism. A job of an agricultural journalist in going around the farmer’s place to find out latest updates and new on farming or attend events related to farming and reporting it. You can approach media platforms like newspapers, television channels or other broadcasting companies to join as an agricultural journalism. As a agricultural journalist, one should primarily focus on the difficulties and problems faced by the farmers and bring it to the attention of people and government  officials so that they can find some help through media.

6.Become a teacher

Every year UGC conducts exams for postgraduate students to select students to become college professors. Students who aspire to become academicians can give an attempt after joining your post graduate course in agriculture. For this, students have to join post graduate courses of agriculture after finishing your bachelor’s degree. Students can also pursue research if they are interested.
